John Chapple is a British photojournalist based in Los Angeles, California.

After a decade working with newspapers in England, Chapple made his American debut shooting celebrity at-home portraits, news and features for a top Los Angeles photo agency. He earned the byline 'John Chapple in the Big Apple' on his next lengthy assignment, six years working for the British press in New York.

Today, John is back in Los Angeles where he continues editorial work for The Times of London, The New York Post, Daily Mirror, The Sun, Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, and The Guardian to name a few. These titles regularly assign John commissions all over the United States, as well as frequent trips to Central and South America, Canada, the UK and Australia.

John maintains a strong working relationship with a wide magazine clientele. He accepts portrait, feature and travel work from Arena, Closer, Empire, Total Film, Ralph, New Woman, Woman's Day and Australian Woman's Weekly.

John shoots the majority of his newspaper jobs with a top of the range Canon 1DS Mark II digital camera, but his beloved Leica and Hassleblad film cameras allow him to produce some of his best work.

When not shooting on land, John can be found in the depths of the ocean using a digital SLR with a professional underwater housing and strobes to shoot sharks, rays and deep-sea creatures of all shapes and sizes.

After taking on several assignments for Animal magazines, Chapple discovered the quirkiness and contagious fun of canine photography, and has endeavored on an ongoing personal project, building a portfolio of humorous dog imagery.

John also makes time for his own love of photography and art, capturing images for his web site of faces and places around the world. It is rare to find John without a camera in hand.
