9th October 2007,Venice, California. A new doggy diet drug is now available for obese dogs in the US. Slentrol, approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is produced by US drug company Pfizer, who also make Viagra. A study found that 60% of pets in the US are overweight and 45% of the owners of those overweight pets thought their pets weight was just right. The FDA defines an obese dog as weighing 20% more than its ideal weight.
