8th June 2008, Santa Monica, California. Every Sunday on the crowded beach at Santa Monica, California, thousands of white crosses are erected as a war memorial. Each cross at the Arlington West Memorial represents the death of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces in Iraq. There are now over 4000 crosses. Since the U.S. invasion of March 2003, the number of Iraqi deaths is over 1 million. PHOTO © JOHN CHAPPLE / REBEL IMAGES.tel: +1-310-570-9100
